No longer for sale – ELSA – Seal 22

Seal 22 mk.II lifting keel cruiser built in the mid 1970s, GRP, white with blue deck, sloop rigged with new outboard engine fed by external tank. 4 berths. Small bottled gas camping style cooker. Plumbed in flushing sea toilet. Littlehampton Harbour dues paid to March 2020. Ready to sail.

This boat won the Pennant Rose Bowl trophy in 2015 and won the Owers Race in 2017! Fun and easy to sail, uncomplicated, no inboard engine, no electrics, an ideal first cruiser for a sailor used to a dinghy and wishing to go larger. Use your own handheld VHF and GPS. 350kg iron keel lifts into the saloon table via a manual winding mechanism. With the keel raised she can take the ground and sit on her keel stub. She also has beaching legs. Keel last painted Spring 2015. Hull last jet washed and antifouled spring 2018. Mainsail by Hyde Sails new in 2017. Older mainsail age unknown but serviceable as a spare. Roller furling genoa unknown age but serviceable. Untried second-hand spinnaker with halyard rigged, sheets and pole. Sails stored inside over winter. Sprayhood and boom cover. Mercury 4 stroke 5hp long shaft outboard with saildrive prop commissioned at the start of 2018, lightly used, wintered ashore in my shed, full documentation and service history, cost the best part of £1000 when new including the first service. Spare (standard) prop. Oxford motorbike style lock.

Also available 5 x Tennamast prop stands, size large, galvanised, 4 flat top, one V top. Suitable for supporting a Seal 22 when ashore with her keel lowered. New in 2014 and used twice, kept in my garage the rest of their life. Perfect condition apart from a couple of splashes of antifoul. When folded they fit into the boot of a medium sized estate car. Cost £100 each when new, for sale at £250 for all five.

Mooring a boat of this length at Arun YC costs about £100 a month. Moorings are subject to availability and for club members only.
